Grenland’s Jone Samuelsen will enjoy more than 15 minutes of fame after scoring with a header from within his own half in a First Division clash with Tromsø.
With Tromsø trailing 2-1 it was time to throw everything into getting an equaliser with even the goalkeeper sent up as they won a corner.
These situations rarely result in a goal at either end but on this occasion something different happened with Tromsø caught spectacularly on the break.
Grenland managed to clear the corner back into the Tromsø half but as the ball was launched hopefully back towards the Grenland goal Samuelsen got his head to the ball.
Rather than just block the attempt to put his own side under pressure Samuelsen was amazed to see his header race towards the unguarded Tromsø goal and roll into the back of the net!
Samuelsen was mobbed by his shocked team mates delighted to celebrate a win achieved in the most unlikely circumstances.
