Celtic’s youth side face their toughest domestic test of the season so far when they travel to face Hearts this afternoon, kick-off 1pm.
Hearts finished last season with wins at Murray Park and Lennoxtown against Rangers and Celtic and have already beaten Rangers this season in their four match winning run.
Celtic go into the game on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Motherwell and without Paul George and Filip Twardzik who were on first team duty in Madrid last night.
A win today would take Celtic to the top of the table with John Kennedy looking forward to the test.
“We’re looking to get back to winning ways and take the positives from the Motherwell match,” Kennedy said.
“Hearts are sitting at the top of the table, they are a strong side playing at home and the team that people are talking about.
“They’ve not lost a game yet but every game as a Celtic player is a big test, we approach each game in the same manner and the players know what is expected of them.
“If our boys play to their full ability we’re optimistic that we can get a result and we’ll be going there to play our usual game and take the match to Hearts.”
Last night in the Next Gen Series Barcelona won 2-1 away to Manchester City, Celtic travel to take on City on October 17 and Ewan Field.
