Udinese hold Milan to a draw in the San Siro

Udinese maintained their impressive start to the season last night by drawing 1-1 against AC Milan in the San Siro.

The result leaves Celtic’s Europa League opponents on seven points after three matches while Milan are still searching for their first win of the new campaign.

Antonio Di Natale kept up his record of scoring in every league match by opening the scoring in the 29th minute but youth team striker Stephan El Shaarawy came off the bench to equalise for Milan midway through the second half.

Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin was pleased with the point that his side took saying: “We didn’t miss a chance to win, Milan did more and created more than us and we didn’t have the legs.

“We played very well, we should be happy. We got a point which suits us and we deserved it.”

In Spain Atletico Madrid won their third home game in a week by defeating Sporting Gijon 4-0 at home with Falcao scoring twice taking his total for the week to six.

Rennes were also in good form winning 6-2 away to mid-table Sochaux to remain two points behind leaders Montpellier.
