Next Gen star Callum McGregor has signed a three year extension to his Celtic contract. The new deal ties the player to Celtic until June 2015.
The midfielder has been a regular in John Kennedy’s u-19 side and was on the bench for both of the Europa League matches against Rennes.
McGregor’s current deal was due to run out at the end of this season with Kennedy delighted to see the 18-year-old’s form being rewarded.
“Callum’s new contract is well deserved,” the hoops coach admitted. “Now that he has a bit of security behind him it’s important that he really knuckles down and tries to get into the first team.
“After the Marseilles match the manager told the players that he was delighted with them. If any of them are close to his thoughts it’s important that they work even harder.”
Jackson Irvine has also signed a new contract with the Melbourne bhoy hoping to be back in action shortly after suffering a shoulder injury last month at St Johnstone.
On Sunday Celtic face Dunfermline in the SFA Youth Cup at Barrowfield, kick off 1pm.
