Kenny Miller's Sky Sports misery

Kenny Miller scoresFormer Rangers striker Kenny Miller couldn’t hide his misery as he watched Celtic beat his old club from the comfort of the Sky Sports studio.

While most fans tuned in to Sky Sports 1 for the eagerly awaited clash the Cardiff striker was on Sky Sports News giving his expert analysis on the match.

The midweek version of the highly popular Sports Saturday programme is usually populated by former players such as Phil Thompson, Paul Merson, Charlie Nicholas and Matt le Tissier who provide instant updates on matches that they are watching from the studio.

The highs and lows of the matches are brought to viewers instantly with plenty of banter flowing about with host Geoff Sterling keeping the panel under control.

Miller was able to give a fairly professional take on events at Celtic Park- until Joe Ledley scored the only goal of the match early in the second half.

The normally fluent Miller suddenly took on the appearance of a child that’s just been told off with his voice dropping as he starts to shake his head uncomfortably as if he’s being picked on to to re-run the events leading up to Ledley’s goal.

After a short commercial break the cameras are back on Miller feeling just as uncomfortable with no signs of a Rangers comeback he talks the viewers through Ledley’s goal then is asked to comment on the celebrating Celtic supporters.

Whether the Cardiff striker gets another invite, or would put himself in the spotlight again, remains to be seen!

Always enjoy seeing a hurting hun!

  • montrealcelt says:

He only smiles when talking about Healy’s brutal tackle.

  • Brianmac says:

This confirms the guy’s bias towards the huns despite all his previous denials, even when pulling on the Hoops jersey. Didn’t we do the right thing getting rid of him. Surely ends any career as a pundit he thought he might have. So embarrassing to watch him sqirm and talk down into his chest. Even the loyal Mr Gray RIP used to make half hearted efforts at appearing to disguise his hatred af all things Celtic, (before he met his demise). National TV should require some display of constructive neutrality from their guests, not a greetin wean bubbling away when his team are getting pumped.
    Hello – Goodbye Kenny!

To be honest I can’t blame Kenny Miller for any of this. At least he wears his heart on his sleeve. We treated him badly, make no mistake about it. Kenny Miller never had a bad game for Celtic, never hid, always showed spirit that other players lacked it. Even as a rangers man, he still did his level best for us and should never have been allowed to leave and come back to haunt us the way he did. I didn’t see too much to complain about in his reporting, but you can’t doubt where his loyalties lie.

    • Aldog82 says:

Totally disagree! I thought he was pretty ineffective in a Celtic shirt, bar when he scored against ragers and home game vs benfica! To me he sums up what’s poor about Scottish football in general! Runs about and works hard but is a poor finisher and his first touch was as poor as I’ve seen!

      • Joe says:

That’s the response of a biased fan. We should never have treated him the way we did, fans included. Kenny Miller has every right to feel bitter at Celtic. We should not have chased him out the door the way we did. It cost us the league, like it or not.

        • Andy says:

We received £3m for him, Strachan wanted him to stay, he was not forced out of the door.

And what league is it you’re talking about? The season Miller left Celtic we won the league.

  • Patrick27 says:

Hahaha poor Kenny no smile whatsoever and the best bit was at the end where he still thinks rangers will regroup and win the title as they have the charachter oh dear!
