The 20-year-old was an ever present in last season’s double winning youth team and made his first team debut at Aberdeen 12 months ago.
With five established central defenders available to Neil Lennon a move to Kilmarnock will give Toshney the opportunity to get some first team football under his belt.
Toshney has found his chances this season limited to playing in the Next Gen Series but has been named in a couple of Scotland u-21 squads.
Kilmarnock have one of the smallest squads in the SPL and are looking for extra defensive options.
Dundee and other First Division sides have enquired about Toshney but Lennon is a fan of the way that Killie boss Kenny Shiels attempts to play the game and is keen to see the defender given a chance at a high level.
