Sandaza says no thanks to Rangers offer

St Johnstone striker Francisco Sandaza is believed to have said no thanks to an end of season contract offer from Rangers.

The Spanish striker has been identified by Ally McCoist as the first of his summer signings with St Johnstone contacted today to confirm the offer to their player.

Sanadaza is less than happy with the approach and offer from Rangers and is hoping to return to England where there is interest from Norwich, West Brom and Championship side Cardiff.

St Johnstone have indicated that they’d be happy to accept a bid in the region of £300,000 for the 27-year-old.

Confirming recent speculation about an offer McCoist admitted earlier today: “I spoke to Steve Lomas this morning just to let him know that we have put a pre-contract bid in for the end of the season when his contract is up.

“I said Steve would be the first person to know if anything was happening so we have had a chat and he knows about that.

“That’s where we are and I think Sandaza’s agent will be speaking to him on Monday or Tuesday of next week.”

It appears that Sandaza and his agent have already rejected the offer from Rangers with the striker likely to use tomorrow’s live televised game against the Ibrox side to showcase his availability south of the border.
