Lewis Toshney Jackson Irvine Celtic newsLewis Toshney has completed his loan move to Kilmarnock.

A number of clubs were interested in the defender who joins the Ayrshire side on loan until the end of the season.

“First day at Killie today ! Looking forward to the games ahead,” he tweeted earlier.

Toshney was a regular in central defence alongside Matty Hughes in last season’s double winning Celtic u-19 side and made a substitute appearance at Aberdeen 12 months ago.

This season he has had to be content with captaining Celtic’s development squad and playing in the Next Gen Series as an overage player, scoring in the 3-0 home win over Marseilles.

A condition of the transfer was that the 20-year-old doesn’t play against Celtic ensuring that he doesn’t play in the League Cup Final between the two clubs on March 18.
