GAIS: There is no Celik loophole

Mervan Celik newsSwedish side GAIS have accused Rangers of being desperate to avoid paying a £240,000 compensation fee for Mervan Celik.

Ally McCoist swooped to sign the dynamic midfielder last month with Rangers beating off interest from England Italy and Germany to snap up the Swedish u-21 star.

Celik was out of contract at GAIS but the Swedish side are due a development fee for the midfielder since he is under the age of 23.

There were some reports that GAIS weren’t due any compensation because they hadn’t made a written contract offer to Celik but sports director Mats Persson has dismissed that suggestion.

“There wasn’t even a loophole,” Persson claimed. “Rangers took a chance that we would not have a receipt to prove we offered him a contract.

“But it feels more like a desperate attempt to avoid paying. We’ve done everything exactly as we should. We could not have done any more.

“Our assistant manager Kjell Pettersson has spoken to Mervan and he thinks it’s sad that we’ve come to this.”

“We have not yet passed the date when Rangers had to pay the fee, so now we wait and see.”

Celik has made two appearances for Rangers so far, as a substitute in the 4-0 win over Hibs before being substituted at half time in the 2-0 Scottish Cup defeat from Dundee United.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Could this end the potential of Cousin signing for Rangers?

Will Rangers expect Celik to pay out of his own pocket like Sone did to Aberdeen, well that happens when you shop in bargain basements trying to get a player on the cheap you would have thought they would check all paperwork and ask players rep .

If this is true, they clearly feel they are far enough in the mire that another couple of feet down won’t make a difference.

If nothing else, the current tax situation they are in has proven one thing for the world to see. rangers ahve always been corrupt and feel they can do exactly whetever they wish, knowing they have the protection of the SFA and SPL, not to mention the legal establishment in Scotland, and the crown. I believe that rangers truly believe they will get away with this because after all, they have done for years and they consider it a divine right they have over every other team and club is the game. Their crown loyalties have saved their backsides for decades.

After the unbelievable fiasco with Harry Rednapp getting off yesterday too, I would not be the least bit surprised to see rangers get the same result. I like Rednapp, but a bank account in my dogs name to avoid paying taxes? Even Sir Minty wouldn’t have thought of that one!

This kind of story is attaching itself a lot to Rankers recently……
Why is this..? Are they having money problems??
I’ve not heard anything to suggest they have….
But it makes you wonder….. :0)

Harry redknapp was unanimously cleared by a jury.

The judge also said the prosecution’s arguments were piss poor and unsubstantiated.

With regards to rangers and Celik, I hear they’re after another of young player called

    Ima Feenyun
