Aiden McGeady has told Rangers that they have no-one to blame but themselves for going into administration.
The Irish winger missed out on three SPL titles while Rangers operated the controversial Employee Benefits Trust tax scheme that has put the clubs’ future in jeopardy.
A fortnight ago Rangers were put into administration with player redundancies expected at any moment. Earlier today Ibrox owner Craig Whyte warned supporters that there may soon be more pain during a telephone interview on Sky Sports.
McGeady expects Rangers to survive in some form but has no sympathy for the club as it awaits the outcome of the tax case that they benefited from for over a decade.
“Obviously people are saying that they would miss Celtic v Rangers games but it’s really their own fault for over-paying players wages and not paying taxes on them,” the former Celt stated.
“That’s the way that it goes in football, it comes back to haunt you.”
He added: “Celtic have been flying, unbeaten in 19 or 20 games and with Rangers falling apart at the minute it’s looking quite good if you are a Celtic fan.
“Celtic are still in three competitions, looking like we are going to win the league, the Scottish Cup and the League Cup as well so everything is looking rosy at Celtic Park at the minute.”

Loved the wee man when he was here and he shows it’s still in his heart with the “looking like WE are going to win the league” line hail hail Aiden and all the best till your return once a Celt your a Celt for life
I picked up on that too!! “We” said Aiden!!! Once a Tim, always a Tim!! We are the biggest club in the world!
Rangers had no sympathy for Mcgeady when they were cheating him out of well deserved trophies. Mcgeady and the other players who were cheated shouldn’t just have no sympathy, they have a right to be very angry. HH
Loved the ‘we’ bit, still glad we have forest, but it would have great to have forest one side and mcgeady the other.
as a former employer used to say, if ur looking for sympathy, u will find it in the dictionary. somewhere between s**t and syphilis.
that really does apply to rangers.
