Administrators deliver Ibrox tickets to Celtic

Celtic have received their full allocation of tickets for the game with Rangers on March 25 and will deal with them in the usual manner.

With the Ibrox club in administration and owing ticket money to three SPL clubs as well as transfer fees to a number of other clubs the issue of the tickets for Ibrox on March 25 was the subject of some speculation.

In December Celtic demanded an up front payment for tickets for the December 28 clash between the two clubs which caused some concern for Craig Whyte.

No new arrangements were made for the distribution and payment of tickets with Celtic happy to deal directly with Duff and Phelps who are the administrators running Rangers.

Responding to claims made in the Daily Record Celtic chief Peter Lawwell said: “There is no ‘bust up, indeed we are pleased that yesterday we received our allocation of tickets for the match from the Administrators of Rangers Football Club.

“We will sell these in the normal manner and will abide by the rules of the Scottish Premier League.

“While we have no desire to become involved in the business of any other football club, we felt it very important that we set the record straight and in doing so protect the reputation of Celtic Football Club.”

SPL rules state that clubs must pay for ticket money within seven days of the fixture being played.
