Celtic unhappy with Scottish Cup pricing

Celtic have registered their unhappiness with the SFA over ticket prices for the Scottish Cup semi final with Hearts or St Mirren.

Prices for the North Stand are £23- only £2 cheaper than for Sunday’s League Cup Final with Kilmarnock.

With a 12.45 Sunday kick-off and live televising of the match it’s likely that the National Stadium will be little more than half full.

A club statement read: “Celtic has advised the Scottish Football Association of their disappointment regarding the price  of the North Stand tickets. As always, the Club expects to bring a large support to Hampden and we are disappointed in the pricing of the North Stand which will be occupied by Celtic supporters for this game.”

Hearts or St Mirren supporters will be housed in the West Stand where tickets are priced at £15. The East Stand, for Celtic supporters, will also be priced at £15 with the North Stand costing £8 morE.

The ticket money from both semi-finals is pooled and split four ways meaning that Aberdeen and Hibs will benefit from the increased numbers of Celtic supporters at the semi-final.

Should Celtic reach the final it’s almost certain that Hibs or Aberdeen will demand more tickets for the final for their once-a-season supporters while Celtic fans scramble for cup final tickets.
