Scott Brown hits back at Nicholas and Lafferty

Scott Brown has shrugged aside the criticism from Charlie Nicholas and Kyle Lafferty of the champions elect.

After five months of biting his tongue Sky Sports pundit Nicholas was quick to put the boot in to the club that introduced him to football with a very predictable target- Neil Lennon.

All the old favourite criticisms were wheeled out by the armchair critic with Brown not slow to respond.

“Do ex-pros annoy me? Just the one really,” Brown admitted. He’s got a wee earring. He sits back and drinks bottles of champagne.

“It’s just him chirping up, just saying anything really.

“Charlie wants to say anything so people can see he is still involved in the game.

“He knows what the pressure is like and how much pressure is on the gaffer.

“He knows we have not won the league in four years and it will be great to bring it home and tell him he is not welcome at the party.”

Following last weeks derby at Ibrox Lafferty- as predictably as Nicholas- claimed that Rangers had proved that they were the better side despite watching a 15 point lead turn into an 18 point deficit.

Brown added: “Just let them say what they want. I didn’t even notice Lafferty’s comments.

“Let him concentrate on whatever he wants to say, the main thing is we keep continuing doing well at Celtic and look forward to picking up the trophy.

“Whatever happens at the end of the season will show you the best team in the league. That’s what happened last season.

“Rangers were the best team and we’ll see what happens at the end of this season.”
