SFA charge Neil Lennon

Neil Lennon has been hit with a charge of misconduct following yesterday’s stormy Rangers v Celtic clash at Ibrox.

The hoops boss was forced to watch the second half of the match from the media centre after speaking to referee Calum Murray at the interval.

While Lennon insisted that he didn’t swear, raise his voice or point fingers the charge from the SFA Compliance Officer  covers ‘the adoption of aggressive behaviour towards a match official and the repeated use of offensive, abusing and insulting language.’

Anticipating the charge the Celtic boss has already disputed that version of events claiming that the incident was witnessed by members of the coaching staff as well as PR Officer Iain Jamieson.

The hoops boss said: “I didn’t swear, I just put my point across and that was it. I came out of the dressing room after doing my speech at half time to the players and got called in and told that I’m not going out.

He (Murray) has deprived me of doing my job in the second half.

I wanted to see him after the game, I was told to wait 20 minutes then I can go and see him. After 20 minutes he said no ‘I don’t want to see you’. So I had to send some of my staff out.”
