Duff and Phelps have issued an April 4 deadline to find new owners for Rangers.
Three bids are on the table for the club that went into administration on February 14 but there is no sign that club owner Craig Whyte will sell his 85% shareholding in the club.
There are a number of issues unresolved relating to the level of the club debt with the outcome of the big tax case still to be decided.
Brian Kennedy of Sale Sharks was informed yesterday that his bid was no longer under consideration with The Blue Knights competing with Chicago based Club 9 Sports and a consortium from Singapore to take control of the club.
“It would be inappropriate for us to comment on the merits of individual bids but, in general, several parties have pursued their declared interest in the Club and five bids submitted have been subject to greater scrutiny,” Duff and Phelps stated today.
“We fully understand the desire of supporters to see the bidding process concluded as soon as possible and have asked three bidders to submit best and final offers by Wednesday April 4. It is likely that a successful bidder will require a period of exclusivity to commit to final due diligence thereafter.
“Bids have inevitably been the subject of widespread comment and speculation but at this stage it would be unwise to perceive any particular party to be a preferred bidder, and the bidding process remains open for all parties until April 4.”
Earlier today Rangers manager Ally McCoist admitted that liquidation may be the best option for the club.

I’m pretty sure they had a deadline a couple of weeks ago to buy the club as well. This must be the last final final deadline.
