England band are banned!

The irritating England band have been banned from Euro 2012!

An official protest has been made to UEFA after the trumpet players were refused entry with their instruments to the England v France match in Donetsk.

The seven piece publicity seekers have been attending England matches for twenty years clocking up 300 matches of near misses and not so glorious failure.

Before setting off on the 2,500 mile road trip to Donetsk they contacted UEFA and the FA to ensure that they would be able to gain access to the stadiums with their instruments.

On arrival at the stadium they were refused entry with their instruments and had to leave them aside in order to watch the game which England drew 1-1.

The trumpet players are funded by a pie sponsorship scheme with their backers quick to issue a press release registering their dismay at being unable to give the three lions their usual musical backing.

“We are going to make an official protest about this matter,” the bands; sponsors announced. “There were no grounds for taking this disgraceful action, which is over-zealous in the extreme.

“Needless to say, we intend the band to be back in its rightful place by the time we get to Kiev for the Sweden game on Friday.”

England took the lead through Joleon Lescott midway through the first half but the defenders Manchester City team-mate Samir Nasri equalised before the interval.

In their next match England face Sweden in Kiev on Friday, with or without their trumpet players.
