Celtic in signing talks with Getafe striker

A number of Spanish news sources have credited Celtic with signing Miku Fedor from Getafe.

The 27-year-old Venezuelan international striker scored 12 goals in 38 La Liga appearances.

Miku, whose full name is, Nicolás Ladislao Fedor Flores, has played in both of Getafe’s La Liga matches this season against Sevilla and Real Madrid..

It is unclear whether the move would be permenent or only on loan but with the economy in real crisis there has been a lot of outbound transfers from Spanish clubs in the closing days of the transfer window.

With Anthony Stokes out injured until the end of October Neil Lennon is looking to add to his striking options with only Georgios Samaras, Gary Hooper and Tony Watt to pick from.

Earlier tonight Celtic confirmed the signing of Efe Ambrose in a £1.2m deal from Israeli side FC Ashdod.

International clearance is required to complete the deal but as a current Nigerian internationalist that is likely to be a formality.

Following the departure of Daryl Murphy yesterday to Ipswich Josh Thompson has joined Portsmouth today although there is confusion over the move.

According to the official Portsmouth website the deal is subject to international and FA clearance.

However the SFA have announced the deal as ‘out of contract’ although it was believed that the defender had a year left on his Celtic contract.
