Two more quit Ibrox

Dorin Goian and Maurice Edu are the latest players to quit Ibrox.

Serie B side Spezia have agreed a season long loan deal for Goian with Stoke City and Ipswich both in talks to sign Edu.

While Edu hasn’t played a game this season centre-half Goian started in all four matches until being left out of last night’s Ramsdens Cup tie at Falkirk.

Yesterday Ally McCoist signed his fifth player of the season when 20-year-old Sebastian Faure agreed a deal with just over a week remaining before a delayed 12 month transfer embargo is imposed.

Commenting on yesterday’s developments the Sevco boss said: “It will be a relief when I get a few in. I think it was inevitable that we would lose some players.

“My biggest concern is when we don’t replace them. I keep going on about the numbers and we’ve lost in the region of 25 and we’ve brought in nothing like that, we’ve brought in a very minimal amount.

“We were down to the bare bones tonight when you looked at the bench. We definitely need to strengthen, of that there is no doubt.”

The departure of Goian is puzzling with the player stating how happy he was living in Glasgow and playing for Rangers after initially hinting that he couldn’t play in the fourth tier.

Palermo are still owed money for the £600,000 deal that took the defender to Rangers a year ago and may be unhappy at Spezia signing a player that they are overdue money for.

The signing of Faure is dependent on international clearance with St Etienne owed money by Rangers for the sale of Carlos Bocanegra a year ago.
