Loan Celts' goal sparks controversy

James Keatings rescued a point for Hamilton Accies with a late late double at Dumbarton.

The on-loan striker came off the bench to score in the 89th minute then equalised in the SEVENTH minute of injury time to keep the Accies ahead of bottom placed Dumbarton.

Angry Dumbarton boss Alan Adamson said: “They scored in the seventh minute of injury time I never saw seven minutes.

“Everyone in the stadium saw there was a foul on the goalkeeper too, as far as I am concerned. The only one who didn’t see it was the referee.

“We were the better team by a mile. I don’t think anyone can argue with that.”

Under fire Hamilton boss Billy Reid said: “We will take our point, but defensively we were an absolute shambles.”

Former Celt Bryan Prunty scored twice for Dumbarton.

In the SPL Cillian Sheridan scored his first goal for Kilmarnock with Paul McGowan replying in the 3-1 win for Killie.

Scott Fox and Stephen O’Donnell continued to pick up the win bonuses as Partick Thistle made it six wins out of six following a 2-1 home win over Cowdenbeath.

Daryl Murphy was in the Ipswich side that lost 2-1 at home to Charlton with Ipswich fans calling for the sacking of Paul Jewell.

I’m not going to quit,” the Ipswich boss stated. “It’s not an easy situation but I’m not going to chuck it in.

If (owner) Marcus Evans wants to put Harry Redknapp in charge he can do it.

“You’ve got to face up to challenges in life and this is certainly a challenge for me and my family. But I’ll dust myself down, come in tomorrow and prepare for the Barnsley game (on 29 September).”
