David Beckham Celtic newsDavid Beckham has sparked worldwide speculation about his next move after announcing that he’ll quit LA Galaxy next month.

Australia seems the most likely destination for the 37-year-old who has been linked with moves to Spurs and PSG in the last few years.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star claimed that he has one more challenge to fulfill in the game once he leaves LA.

Beckham’s announcement comes just two days after his friend Snoop Dog claimed that he’d like to invest in Celtic and get Becks signed up for the hoops.

The rapper stated: “I asked my man David [Beckham] about Celtic and he was like, ‘Yeah, teams don’t come much bigger. I would try and sign him up for a season but he is pretty happy over here. LA is home for him and his family now – but I would have to at least make that offer to my boy.

“We have lunch when we can, so next time, you know, I am going to speak to him about it. Never say never.

“I got a lot of interest in soccer. It’s not a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in sports teams but it is a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in soccer teams. I didn’t catch the whole Barcelona game but I watched the highlights. I know Barcelona are a big deal, and it shows Celtic are a big deal as well.

Beckham moved to LA in 2004 from Real Madrid and earned his 100th England cap as a Galaxy player.

The sporting icon has had a massive impact on the game stateside and intends to return to the MSL once he has completed his final challenge.

“I’ve had an incredibly special time playing for the L.A. Galaxy,’ he stated. “However, I wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career.

“I don’t see this as the end of my relationship with the league, as my ambition is to be part of the ownership structure in the future.

“In my time here I have seen the popularity of the game grow every year. I’ve been fortunate to win trophies, but more important to me has been the fantastic reception I’ve had from fans in L.A. and across the States.

“Soccer’s potential has no limits in this wonderful country and I want to always be part of growing it.”
