Lennon makes peace with his critic

Neil Lennon has revealed that he’s met up with the supporter he argued with during the 1-0 defeat from Inverness Caley Thistle.

The sight of Lennon having an exchange with a fan dominated the headlines with the Celtic boss claiming that he’d walk away from the club if he wasn’t wanted.

Lennon relented on that comment later in the week and explained that he has met up with his critic to resolve the matter.

“He doesn’t really have to apologise for anything,” the Celtic boss said. “I think by coming to the club he was trying to defuse the situation because the photographs made him out to be the protagonist, which he wasn’t.

So we’ve dealt with that already and there will be no problem when I go to the dugout.”

Looking at the his selection options the Celtic boss added: “We must get it right at home and with a bit of freshness coming into the team maybe that will perk the side up a bit.

“I’m hoping for a positive performance and a result. I’m hoping we can shake that monkey off our back and get back to winning ways at home.

“There’s no reason why we can’t. Our home form over the last 10 years has been pretty good so we’re just in a short-term lull at the moment.

“So we’ll have a strong team out. Rogne is fit so he might figure and McGeouch is in contention while Zaluska might get a runout. We will have Victor Wanyama, Gary Hooper, Lassad and Adam Matthews in the squad and Emilio Izaguirre is fit.

“It is a strong squad. I’m mindful of some of the players needing a rest for Wednesday but we will go strong tomorrow.

“We have an obligation to the fans and an obligation to Arbroath to do that. I don’t want anyone thinking we are taking this game or the cup lightly.”
