Bournemouth swoop for Sevco target

Sevco target Ryan Fraser has signed for League One high flyers Bournemouth.

Craig Brown was disappointed when the 18-year-old turned down a new contract at Aberdeen with the winger instantly linked with a move to Ibrox.

STV compiled a list of over 150 SPL players who’ll be out of contract in the summer and able to sign for Sevco on September 1 when the transfer embargo negotiated with the SFA expires.

Despite the lure of a move to Ibrox Fraser has joined the cherries in a £400,00 deal that also offers Aberdeen a proportion of any sell on fee.

Announcing the deal Dons boss Craig Brown said: “My reaction is disappointment that we are losing him. He seemed anxious to go and he was advised that his future was elsewhere.

“When that became apparent we resigned ourselves to the fact that we were losing him. We wish him all the best as a young player.

“In spite of the fact that I would have liked to have had him here and that it might have been better for his development here, he has elected to go there and there is not anything you can do about it really.”

Fraser joins another Sevco target, Jamie Murphy in League One wuith the former Motherwell striker moving to Sheffield United.

Following the Sevco share issue in December Ally McCoist was promised a £10m warchest to go into the transfer market which could rise to £30m depending on season ticket sales.
