Charles Green has claimed that Celtic fans have been racing to tell him that they were duped into thinking there would be derby matches this season.
The latest words of wisdom from the Yorkshire tycoon come at the end of a rush of statements from Ibrox commenting on matters involving Celtic.
Last Saturday the club website took issue with Celtic stating that the 3-0 victory in April was the last ever derby while in midweek the grammatically challenged communications director claimed that Celtic and Celtic fans had orchestrated a campaign to excessively punish the newco.
Back in April 99% of Celtic fans viewed the visit of Ally McCoist’s side as the final ever derby and took great delight in the imminent demise of their long standing rivals.
Chants and banners celebrating the financial plight of the club from Govan were there for all to experience as Neil Lennon’s side turned on the style in a 3-0 win.
While the SPL and SFA attempted to find a route into the top division for newco, supporters of clubs across the land reminded their directors that the laws of the game should be applied without fear or favour.
Celtic chief Peter Lawwell is on record that the clubs’ business model isn’t dependent on any other individual club but according to Green he’s had to comfort hoops fans struggling to accept and enjoy the Champions League due to the absence of a Glasgow derby on the fixture card.
“Who is going to buy a Celtic season ticket when there’s no Old Firm?” he asked.
“The Celtic fans bought season tickets this year because they thought Rangers were going to play against them, as they were buying them in May and June.
“Of course, they’ll buy season tickets, but they’re not going to sell 40,000 when there are no Rangers games.
“I’ve ‘ad loads and loads of Celtic people come and tell me that. I’m not saying it as a criticism. Why would you when you can walk up to any SPL game and buy a match ticket? Cash is tight.”
Once Green has published audited accounts or revealed who are involved with the mysterious Blue Pitch Holdings group his thoughts will be taken seriously by others.

Just wondering why the national press never picked up on Chucks claim that Sevco had the 4th biggest average attendance in the UK when a quick google search shows his mob to have the sixth highest well behind Celtic?
This clown clearly stated the Sevco were only behind Man U, Arsenal and Newcastle with ‘figures jist hand’d to em’.

My family have six season tickets and we did not think for a second on buying them, oh and I will be buying them next year. I have been a ST holder for more than twenty years and attended long before that and I can assure chuckles the clown that if sevco 2012 were
given a place in the spl (as attempted by the corrupt goons that run our game )I would have never attended another game. I would have funded my club directly with the cost of my ST through other means .I have no interest in funding footballs equivalent of WWF .CG biggest fear now is that sevco 2012 fade into the realms of div 3 and are recognised as what they are.
