Juventus newsTwo goals from Mauro Icardi gave 10 man Sampadoria a surprise win away to Juventus.

Sebastian Marchisio opened the scoring for the home side from the penalty spot but the visitors fought back to take full points with Icardi netting in the 54th and 69th minutes as Juve lost their third Serie A match of the season.

Eight yellow cards were dished out as well as a double for Gaetano Berardi in the 23rd and 32nd minutes that saw the visitors play for an hour with ten men.

Despite playing against ten men Juventus boss Antonio Conte felt that his side should have had a second penalty and deserved to take something from the match.

“This is a game that we must reflect on and will help us to grow up,” Conte said. “It’s part of the growing up process for a young side, let’s put it like that.

“It is certainly irritating to lose on counter-attacks and we will analyse what we did wrong today. Juventus are only human, we are not Martians.

There are two tough months ahead of us and we’ve got to grit our teeth to give our all. We created a great deal in the second half, but were not particularly precise in our finishing.”

On Wednesday Juventus are at home to AC Milan in the Italian Cup before travelling to meet Parma on Sunday.

Lazio are now just five points behind in second place after winning 2-1 at home to Cagliari on Saturday.
