Mario Balotelli Juventus target

Juventus have joined the race for Mario Balotelli.

The Manchester City misfit seemed destined to move to AC Milan but the Turin giants are reportedly interested in the striker whose fee has dropped towards the £17m mark.

Juventus have repeatedly stated that they won’t be making any big moves during the January transfer window but a run of one win in four Serie A matched has changed their attitude with Nicolas Anelka undergoing a medical yesterday prior to signing.

If Balotelli joins the French striker he’ll only be available to play domestically having played in the Champions League for Manchester City who finished fourth in their group behind Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Ajax.

Balotelli has only scored once this season but hasn’t lost any of his ability to create headlines off the pich.

Earlier this month pictures emerged of the striker involved in a training ground bust-up with Roberto Mancini with the City boss forced into playing down the incident at a media conference.

AC Milan have been in talks to sign the striker since before the transfer window opened but now face competition from the current Italian champions.

Balotelli is in the Manchester City squad to face QPR tonight but is expected to fly out to Italy on Wednesday morning to complete negotiations for a move to Serie A.

Despite the grief that the striker has caused him Mancini has been supportive of the wayward striker who he also worked with at Inter Milan.
