Afternoon action for Celtic u-20's

Celtic’s u-20 side are looking for their fifth win on the bounce when they face Ross County at Firhill today, kick-off 3pm with free admission.

After a wobble over the new year that saw them lose at St Mirren then draw at home to Inverness Caley Thistle John Kennedy’s side have got back to winning ways.

Monday night’s victory away to Dunfermline was more convincing than the 2-1 scoreline suggests with Kennedy looking to build on that display this afternoon.

“We saw some improvements on Monday night and were quite pleased with the overall performance,” he stated. “We want to build on that and push on.

“I’d like to see us score some more goals, we have goals in the side from all areas and hopefully that will all click into place soon.

“The players are well rested from Monday and it’s good to have another game soon after, it keeps their concentration levels up and gives them a chance to gather momentum.

“We’ll focus on our own performance, play as we can and hope to build on the display at Dunfermline.

“The performances recently have been a bit up and down despite picking up the results. Hopefully we can find some consistency and put together a good result and performance.”

Jackson Irvine could be in line for his first start in three months after appearing as a second half substitute against Dunfermline.

On Wednesday Celtic face Dundee United at Tannadice with a 7pm kick-off.
