One week to save Dunfermline from liquidation

|

John Yorkston Rangers newsJim Jefferies is hopeful that Dunfermline can be saved from liquidation despite having just eight days to avoid a winding up order from HMRC.

The complicated finances of the club have come under great scrutiny over the last few weeks with the role of former Bank of Scotland director Gavin Masterton increasingly questioned.

With East End Park no longer in the ownership of the football club assets are thin on the ground ruling out administration with the club staring liquidation in the face next Wednesday.

“There’s always hope while there’s time,” Jefferies claimed. “We got Jim Leishman down to speak to the players, myself and the staff to give us an update of what’s been going on and what position we’re in.

“They did state that time’s against them but they’re still working very hard behind the scenes, putting a lot of time and effort in, and the players appreciate that.

“They’re working hard trying to put everything together to stave off the liquidators. Every extension they get is vital.”

Jefferies added: “It’s very difficult when there’s a lot of people involved because they’ve all got their different agendas.

“We just hope that there’s some common ground that comes from this and they can get round the table very quickly.

“At this stage Jim (Leishman) and the steering group have informed us they have an accountant in there doing due diligence, finding out what the club’s about before anything can be finalised.

“That could take a few days and they’ll report back to us on Friday with an update.”

The Dunfermline situation again throws up the inadequacies of the SFA’s licensing system with the clubs last audited accounts published in 2011.

When a club fails to furnish the SFA with audited accounts they should be denied a playing licence for the following season to alert supporters and shareholders to the state of the club.

In 2011 the SFA granted Rangers a licence despite not receiving audited accounts with the club competing in UEFA competitions in 2011/12 before going into administration in February.

A similar scenario is now taking place at East End Park while Stewart Regan, Campbell Ogilvie and friends contemplate mission statements and action plans while walking away from their principle function- to govern the game.

the are a mini gers and can rot as far as i am concerned. i wonder how they will feel when they are treated differently than rangers. karma’s a bitch.

  • Monti says:

I still can’t believe Ogilvie,Regan,Doncaster & Longmuir are still employed, every day they wake up they should be ashamed, but they are not.the lot of them are a disgrace, but don’t worry pars fans, your club is safe,it’s your holding company that’s in trouble….isn’t it? Scottish football,no thanks!!

What goes around comes around, Yorkston, Calderwood, Nicholson etc can GTF, you are soon to be zombiefied like your favourite team

  • williebhoy says:

Dunfermline are in dire straits with Masterton holding the aces – I fear the worst, can’t see anyone wanting to fill HIS pockets.

Better to start afresh I think & build properly, unless Maserton sells the ground etc cheaply like his mates down Govan way 🙂

Time Police had a serious look at the involvement of Masteron / Cummings / Murray and cronies like Green / Ellis / King…just need one of them squeal then the lot come tumbling down.

Police already looking very carefully look up operation hornet on the net one billion pound fraud

Morning Willie,I agree .There is scope in this that Company Law will Embrace and repercussions to the People who needto be held accountable should be set in motion.I suspect the Masonic brothers will do what the done with sevco and dilute the damage. It is ordinary working people who are going to be damaged most.

  • Martybhoy says:

    Karma for Yorkston the FUD

  • yogI says:

If you dont mind,I wont be joining the rush to hang Dunfermline F.C.Some of the venom I read on here is reserved for Chairman Yorkston and I have no problem with that, but think of the Social and Economic problems that will visit the ordinary people of Fifewho are not all closet Sevco supporters. So lets not allow our dislike of an eejit such as Yorkston cloud our sense of decency and compassion for the many thousands of fifers.

    • Monti says:

I don’t think any comments on here are aimed at ‘fifers’ in general,Yorkston has been out of order with comments about Celtic in the past, comments that were childish & inaccurate, offensive even. Throw in Ian Ferguson,Calderwood,Nicholl & Clark, who don’t hide their Rangers(IL) allegiance, there’s where the edge comes into it,you go on about possible ‘social & economical problems’? Not paying taxes or your creditors also cause this & Dunfermline are guilty of this! What about the other clubs they haven’t paid gate money too? are these clubs to get into financial trouble waiting for them to pay up? I suppose you think Rangers (IL) should have been allowed into the SPL even after being found guilty of cheating & ripping other clubs off with prize money? I think your a sevconian,so fuck off to FF!

      • yogI says:

Listen you Tube. You are the type of Celtic supporter that makes me sick to my stomach. We know all about the events of the past when sevco pissed on the rest of scottish football and we all read your nauseating drivel with Embarrasment, but because of people such as those you mentioned doesnt mean that we throw a blanket over everyone at D.F.C. One final and last word to a nonentity such as you, I have been a good Celtic man possibly many years more than an Immature cretin like you, so dont dare call me one of them because I hold an opinion that is different from yours, which wouldnt be difficult with a brain dead clown such as you.

  • Joe Murray says:

Cheerio Dunfermline, I will always regard you as a wee Hun team that we played.
No sympathy for teams who consistently outspent what they brought in. Seriously, Dunfermline spending silly money (for them) to do what? Win the Spl? Aye Ok.
Yogl, I don’t remember anyone being sympathetic to us 19 years ago. So to he’ll with them. Too many clubs in this country anyway.

    • yogI says:

Joe,With every respect I know what you are saying And I am trying to get across what this will Trigger to a lot of decent people who are not Huns and need this club to make a living.

      • yogI says:

Please accept my Apologies Joe.I find it unacceptable how some of these people on here start calling good Celtic people names and character Assanate all because of having a different view on any given situation,so I think it would be be a good idea for your good offices to issue certain standards as regards intolerance.

      • Shugg says:

        Feathering your own cap then!

    • Shugg says:

“a lot of decent people who are not Huns and need this club to make a living”.

      • yogI says:

I Stand by that .What is offensive about that comment.

      • yogI says:

and you can forget about inferring I am a Fifer who needs this club for personal gain.I am a Glasgow man Born and bred,Celtic to the core and a man with proud socialist principles. So assuming the verbal abuse is on the way from you and one or two others on this site, let me say I would rather be me than some of you.

        • Shugg says:

Paranoid much. When did i verbally abuse you? Away and hide under your mothers coat till the Bogeymen go away.

  • Shugg says:

Let the bastards die. I’m sure Sutton would agree.

  • Xcelent news, another orange zombie team ready tae die, hearts nxt hopefully, the sfa really are a joke of an organization, UEFA should seriously look into whos running this corrupt charade, maybe its time they employed people from catholics schools to run these organizations, instead of the ” what school did u go to” brigade, time for massive change in Scotland, starting at the very top.. hail hail, GOD BLESS THE CELTIC+

  • mark says:
