The SFA are set to probe the membership application of Sevco after revelations that Craig Whyte is involved in Charles Green’s consortium.
Whyte is set to take Green to court over the transfer of assets to Sevco Scotland from Sevco 5088 which cut the former billionaire from Motherwell out of the picture.
Asked about the situation last week Green admitted: “We told him what he wanted to hear. Imran (Green’s right hand man) told him because we needed to keep him sweet to prise the club away from him.”
Now it seems that the SFA are about to investigate to find out if they were also told what they wanted to hear in the secretive five way agreement that gave associate membership to Sevco.
Speaking to the BBC Stewart Regan said: “We have to seek the facts and that’s what we’ve done.
“We’ve written to Mr Green, as chief executive of the club, and asked him to respond to a number of very specific points about the revelations last weekend. And once we’ve got those answers, we’ll be able to decide how we deal with it.”
Green has changed his take on his relationship with Whyte at various times after initially claiming that he bought out his controlling interest for £2.
Over the last week Whyte has released audio tapes of a number of conversations with Green including financial details relating to a payment of £137,500 paid to the mother of Imran Ahmed.
Green has come under increasing pressure over the last week and has also been charged by the SFA over using racist comments in a newspaper interview.
Having initially defended his racist comments Green has tonight changed his tune after being charged by the SFA: “I apologise unreservedly if any offence has been taken by my remark. I was actually trying to make the point, albeit clumsily, that I am not a racist.
“Imran Ahmad is a close friend and business associate and I would certainly have no cause or wish to offend him.”
Perhaps as punishment the SFA could get Green to head up an anti-racist campaign.
Whyte is not set to take Green to court. Cant believe after ribbing them so much for believing his lies now you are doing the same. If he was going to take them to court he would have done it already. He isn’t. He is a liar. Nothing will come of this.
I’m not so sure. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about how really owns what and who’s working for who.
Also, why would Ticketus have sued Craigy for £17m if they know he doesn’t have any money or assets? And don’t forget BDO are still investigating why the oldco assets were sold so cheaply.
The people involved are getting a lot of help from people in high places, but they’re all back-stabbing weasels who’d sell their granny for a pound, so anything could happen.

It’s almost like Ticketus are giving the whole stack of cards a ‘prod’. They probably don’t know who owns all the assets either. Only folk who do know are duff n felps, craigie whyte, Chico and SDM.
Ticketus have just called someone’s bluff. PC plod have been on the raid about the Whyte-Murray deal. BDO are still sniffing about. There’s some far eastern businessmen looking for their dosh back. And HMRC are as tenacious as ever.
Still, I don’t think Craigie Whyte will sue anyone either but that won’t spoil this sorry tale of woe for me.
