Craig Whyte has launched legal action to reclaim the assets of the liquidated Rangers Football Club.
After being challenged last week by Charles Green to go to court the former billionaire from Motherwell has informed that stock exchange that Sevco 5088 has a ‘prima facie’ case for Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park.
The action is being taken on behalf of the Worthington Group plc which has close links to Whyte and business associate Aiden Earley.
Worthington’s statement read: “The assets of Sevco 5088 Ltd include a claim, which has been independently reviewed by Leading Counsel who is also a Deputy High Court Judge, to all of the business and assets of RFC 2012 Plc which were purchased by Sevco 5088 Limited or Sevco Scotland Ltd from the administrators of RFC 2012 plc in June of 2012.
“Sevco Scotland Ltd was subsequently renamed The Rangers Football Club Limited and its share capital was acquired by Rangers International Football Club Plc, the shares of which are now traded on AIM. It is the position of Sevco 5088 Ltd that it is the rightful owner of the business and those assets.
“After examination of the evidence, Leading Counsel’s advice is that there is a prima facie case to answer.”
Last week the SFA contacted Green after media reports about his links to Whyte who was banned from Scottish football and fined £250,000 for his role in the liquidation of Rangers which included the non-payment of social taxes.
The SFA granted Sevco associate membership in July of last year but that membership could be revoked if Green misled the SFA over Whyte’s role.

Has there ever been such a sham of a takeover, it stank of corruption from day 1, i dont believe for 1 minute that the business minded people in Scotland and the city didn’t suspect any irregularitys in the deal, and once again the SFA have been complicit in the resurrection of the dead club. The SFA/SPL/SFL/NEWCO and the establishment have shamed scotish football for ever, i would expect that level of corruption in Russia, Italy, South America, but it over shadows anything thats happend in them places. It has got passed the stage of sporting authorites now, its a serious criminal matter for the police authorities to deal with now, administration 2 welcome back..

But surely it was Crook Whyte’s best buddy Andrew Ellis that set up Sevco Scotland…probably to try and keep Crook Whyte’s name out of things.
No matter they are all part of the same cartel Whyte – Green – Ellis – Murray…still think all this crap about ownership is just a smoke screen, trying to make Green look like the savious for seeing off Whytey just in time for season book renewals.
With the share price dropping each day, Green will surely come out with something truly outrageous to try & get booted out so he can cash in his ever dwindling shares instead of holding onto them for months yet, by which time they will be worth about 2 Mongolian jube jube beans if he’s lucky.
They are sinking FAST and really are of no relevance to Celtic, today or for some years to come under yet another facade.
