Malcolm Murray newsThe bitter boardroom battle of Ibrox is set to surface at an EGM.

Without even having held their first ever AGM it’s believed that an EGM is about to be called to finally oust Malcolm Murray who has twice been given votes of no confidence by his board.

McGill’s buses executive James Easdale is behind the move to call an EGM and has been given the backing of Chris Morgan from the secretive Blue Pitch Holdings Group.

Charles Green brought Blue Pitch to the table when he apparently bought the assets from Duff and Phelps for £5.5m but that deal has been challenged by Craig Whyte’s Sevco 5088 company.

Easdale and his brother Sandy, who was convinced for VAT fraud in the nineties, went public last week with their criticism of Murray and their desire to be represented in the boardroom.

It’s understood that the Easdale’s have an agreement in place to buy up Green’s shares allowing them to use his 8% holding by proxy at the moment.

By lining up their own shareholding with Green and Blue Pitch the Easdale’s are likely to get their wish with a place on the board and the removal of Murray and fellow non-executive director Philip Cartmell.

The boardroom unrest takes place against a background of uncertainty over who owns the club assets and what links they may have to former billionaire Craig Whyte.

Last July the SFA awarded Green associate membership of the SFA after being informed of his backers and the financial future of the new club.

Doubts have now been cast on much of that agreement with the club carrying out an internal investigation into Whyte’s claims.

Other than requesting further information from the club the SFA seem to be taking a backseat allowing the uncertainty over the Third Division champions to continue.

When was Craig Whyte ever a billionaire, outside of Keith Jacksons imagination?

Motherwell and Billionaire are two words that somehow just don’t go together.

World record level of embarrassment over at Ibrox as Rangers the 3rd looks ever more likely! Wee bears will one day refer to Rangers as ‘twice removed on my da’s side’.

Celtic MUST have a team of legal eagles recording every move made by the benefit cheats and the sfa. With Cardiff blowing their trumpet about being able to over-take Celtic in the EPL….well there’s just got to be away out for u with this corruption going on.

On another note, if Fraze-Wright REJECTED the ‘offer’ of a two match ban and was then hauled up and found guilty of the charges, why has he still only been given a two match ban!!
Am I the only one that thinks this stinks?

Totally agree regards Wright, normally when you challenge a judgement and lose your initial sentance is increased as a way of deterring people from challenging every time

Mentioned normal at the start, nothing the sfa does is normal/fair rather always to their hidden agenda and always will be even after Olgilvie,Regan n co leave, hate to be pessimistic but that’s the way it is

I dont understand why we dont have team of legal eagles pursuing an avenue out of here.the way litigation is these days we must have a chance of being allowed to trade in football business wherever it may be on this island, providing we meet the criteria of Business law,and we more than meet that, there are few organisations in better financial shape than us.I concur completely with you Sweeney ,it does stink.A fish rots from the head down and say no more.

      • Sweeney Hughes says:

Who says we don’t have a legal team on the case Yogi?

I dont know for certain of course,It does appear to be the obvious route and on the wish list for so long of all our fellow supporters, but I dont see or are encouraged by any movement at Board Level. The really provocative statement our board releases is The one about We are a Scottish club and we have legal and moral commitments to this country. We represent an institution that continually has us in its Disciplinary sights ,not withstanding the blatant anti-celtic crowd that pollutes the sfa. They appear too be dragging their feet in my opinion in getting us out of here.

I doubt even Lenny knows exactly what big Pedros doing behind the scenes here m8.
The big chap likes to play things close to his chest, I reckon there would be an ‘inner sanctum’, so to speak, the Sharp Suited man, Dick Dastardly and maybe a couple of close associates and I think that would include a couple of top notch legal chaps of the Queens Counsel variety.
I’m could be the havering of the ‘obsessed’ (lol) m8, but like yourself I find it hard to believe that a Multi million pound business like Celtic would be sitting back without even taking notes.

            KTF Yogi.

I am guessing Mr Lawell and co are well aware of the current status over at Mordor and SFA ShiteTowers. As a club we are in a difficult position as anything we do will be magnified and the whole messy affair will be blamed on us.

We can’t rely on governance to sort this out as it has now been shown to be a toothless tiger with no discernible authority. Remember Kevin Bacon in Animal House screaming ‘all is well, don’t panic’. That’s the SFA now!

Our best route would be to leave this league and start elsewhere but… I honestly do not believe it is even on the CFC agenda at the moment.

It’s something we as fans would love but I don’t think the club have taken steps towards this
