Joe Ledley newsNot many footballers make the switch from Dubai to Dingwall but after a week in the sun Joe Ledley is ready to get back into action.

After clinching the title with a goal in the 4-1 win over Inverness Caley Thistle the Welshman was given time off and booked his family in for a week in the sunshine of the emirates.

Victoria Park, Dingwall will be a little less appealing and relaxing but Ledley is looking forward to the final stage of the season and the chance to double up on his SPL winners medal.

“It’s nice for any footballer to get a break,” he admitted. “It was a bit weird, because I’ve not had a break like this in this part of the season before.

“We had a talk about it and if you look at the amount of games we have played as individuals, it was right for myself and other international players to have a few days off.

“I’ve only been away for just over a week so I won’t lose much fitness and I’m back in training now. I think I will be in good condition for the final and for these forthcoming games.

“We’ll be coming into the qualifying rounds of the Champions League in the middle of July, so we won’t have much time off this summer. That’s why the manager has given us the time off now.

“It’s difficult to switch off completely when you are away, but it was nice to lie there in Dubai and do nothing, having no worries about my alarm going off and waking up for training.

“I saw the TV highlights of the Motherwell game when I got back and it was always going to be a difficult game anyway. Hopefully we can bounce back at Ross County, although we’ve already lost there this season so we know it will be tricky.”
