Rangers International to robustly respond to Whyte’s letter before claim

|

Craig Whyte RangersRangers International have announced to the Stock Market that Craig Whyte has no links to the Third Division champions.

However on Tuesday the club received notification from Whyte’s legal representatives that court action will be taken which appears to supersede the Pinsent Masons investigation which concluded on May 17.

In the Stock Market statement the club promises to robustly defend the letter before claim.

The result of the ‘independent’ investigation is hardly a surprise and ignores the main issue raised by Whyte- the transfer of assets from Sevco 5088 to Sevco Scotland.

Whyte has challenged that transaction carried out by Charles Green which removed the former Motherwell born billionaire from the equation.

It’s believed that neither Green or Whyte were directly involved in the investigation from Pinsent Masons.

This morning’s statement to the AIM from Rangers International Football Club read: “On behalf of Rangers International Football Club plc, the non-executive directors of the Company (the “Investigation Committee”) engaged the law firm Pinsent Masons LLP to investigate the connections between Craig Whyte and former and current personnel of the Company and its subsidiaries (the “Investigation”).

“The Investigation was overseen by Roy Martin QC. The Investigation concluded on 17 May 2013 and Pinsent Masons and Roy Martin QC have reported to the Investigation Committee.

“The Investigation Committee is satisfied that a thorough investigation was conducted despite the inherent limitations of a private inquiry.

“Based on the assessment of the available evidence, the Company considers that the Investigation found no evidence that Craig Whyte had any involvement with Sevco Scotland Limited (now called The Rangers Football Club Limited), the company which ultimately acquired the business and assets of The Rangers Football Club P.L.C. from its administrators; nor which would suggest that Craig Whyte invested in The Rangers Football Club Limited or Rangers International Football Club plc, either directly or indirectly through any third party companies or vehicles.

“On 28 May 2013, a letter before claim was sent to (inter alia) The Rangers Football Club Limited and Rangers International Football Club plc on behalf of Craig Whyte, Aidan Earley and (purportedly) Sevco 5088 Limited.

“The Rangers Football Club Limited and Rangers International Football Club plc will be preparing a robust response to the letter before claim.

“However, given that legal proceedings are threatened in the letter before claim, it would not be appropriate to make public any further content from the report or to comment further about the contents.

“Pinsent Masons’ and Roy Martin’s reports to the Company are confidential and legally privileged. This announcement is not intended to and does not serve to waive privilege in the contents of the reports which remain confidential and legally privileged.”

With the report confidential and legally priviledged it puts the SFA in a difficult situation since they have contacted Rangers International about the involvement of Whyte who has a lifetime ban from the game.

The letter before claim takes the crisis at Ibrox to a new level on the day that it is expected Walter Smith will replace Malcolm Murray as chairman.

P.S …. What are the odds the SFA will use this confidential and legally privileged report to absolve SEVKKKO of any wrongdoing in the matter? And may very well lift the transfer ban, donate 1 million to the manky fighting fund, throw a tea party at castle greyskull in honour of dignity and buy the titles back off of Chuckie to sit them in ra peepuls trophy room?

I will be taking bets all day

My book is open at 1/100000000000

This gets more sureal by the day.

You stand here today charged with robbing the Bank Of Scotland on Paisley Rd West on the 15 of April this year, how do you plead?

Your Honour, I wasn’t even in Ladbrokes bookies on Byres Rd on the 12 of December last year!

    Case dismissed!

It reminds me of the joke about the cross-eyed Judge with three defendants infront of him.

‘How do you plead’, he asks the first, ‘not guilty’, says the second, ‘I wasn’t talking to you’, says the Judge, ‘I never opened my f*ckn mooth’, answers the third.

So the whitewash goes on eh! See there is no mention of Sevco 5088 in their ‘investigation’. Strange that!

No coincidence Walter Smith is to be made chairman on the same day the pseudo-investigation results are announced to the stock exchange. Cue the inevitable PR exercise which will now follow where the sycophantic Scottish press will herald a new dawn with the ‘Godfather of Scottish Football’ (their words) at the helm.

Like the press the duplicitous SFA will pay homage to Smith on bended knee, all previous indiscretions will be consigned to history as ‘the right people’ are now in charge at Ibrox. Ogilvie and Co. will accept their ‘investigation’ results as gospel truth and this scandal will be buried along with their 5 way agreement. Now all hail King Walter restorer of dignity and truth.

Scottish football now officially makes me sick. It can’t even be considered a genuine sport in this country any more. It is nothing more than a sham game where the dice is loaded in favour of those who think themselves above reproach by those who are supposed to govern it.

The Sevconians regularly celebrate being shafted, manipulated and conned. Check out their sites, they don’t see anything worth questioning in the Pinsent ‘report’. Not the obtuse wording, not even the exclusion of Sevco 5088 from the ‘report’! They are delighted that they are being kept in the dark, it is where they are happiest. As long as they believe it’s Green and Ahmed robbing them blind and humiliating them and not Whyte they are delighted!!

It’s all dirty water my friends…. Until there is a change at the top of SFA the fish will continue to smell from the head down …

    ‘Smith in total charge then’

I am absolutely delighted. Is he not the guy that was there under “Minty” Murray and knew about all the dirty dealings and kept shtoomp?

Is he not the guy that handed the greasy towel over to gullible fat Sally and ran away keeping shtoomp?

Is he not the guy lurking in the background like Gollum for the passed 18 months, keeping shtoomp?

The orcs will be delirious with joy but with brains the size of peanuts there’s no way they see the bigger picture. That is same old codgers keeping them in the Middle Ages with the result of another administration at least on the way.

Thank god I was born a Celtic fan.

    Hail hail

    • Andybhoy says:

Not in total charge Jimbo, just the appearance that he is, more the public face of the club than anything else. Smith being made chairman is a PR move, a figurehead for the fans and press to rally round.

The zombie hordes will fall back into line behind him ensuring season ticket sales, the press and media will bow down in his presence and fail to challenge him on anything he ever says no matter what like they have always done. Also the SFA will point to his installation as chairman as proof that the club is now in the right hands and sorting itself out, therefore no further action will need to be taken regarding the Green/Whyte takeover.

It’s a predictable strategy but effective. Everyone’s a winner, well everyone except for every other club in Scotland and their fans. The Scottish press will justify it all as ‘for the good of Scottish football’ and will proclaim anyone who disagrees are either ‘old firm haters’ or bigoted zealots instead of genuine fans who want to see fairness and justice being done when ANY club thinks they are above the rules.

The game in this country, the people who run it and those who report on it are toxic right now and if fans of all clubs do not stand up and say ‘no more, enough is enough’ then what’s the point in it?
