Reluctant David Longmuir is ready to go along with league reconstruction that will see both the SFL and SPL disappear.
A new 42 club organisation could be in place for next season with First Division clubs in line for a cash lifeline with play-off’s introduced between the top two divisions.
The new set up was brought about by an approach from First Division clubs to the SPL after they lost confidence in Longmuir’s lackluster leadership.
“On governance, the initial governance model that was proposed, and seems still to be the favoured governance model, is not one that we wish to pursue,” Longmuir said.
“The governance model that the clubs, in unanimous fashion agreed to support, was the one that I previously put to the SPL, which is a 3-1-1-1 governance model [a board made up of three top league representatives and one from each of the other leagues], as opposed to a 3-2-1 governance model.
“This is a marvellous opportunity for everybody to get behind it. We are not far away.
“We agreed that the recommended financial distribution model that the SFL put to the SPL this week is going to take us forward and we got unanimous agreement that that was the will of the clubs.
“I know Neil Doncaster is putting it to his clubs on Monday and I hope that they look upon it as being a fair and appropriate way to spread what wealth we’ve got in the game.”
Once reconstruction has been delivered most fans would want to see a clean sweep of chief executives removed from power with the credibility of Longmuir, Doncaster and Stewart Regan seriously effecting the credibility of Scottish football.

Corrupt wee stooge wanted to hold the entire sport in Scotland to ransom in the name of Sevco. He lost the confidence of every FULL member Club in the SFL and still holds the top job.
