Will the SFA act on Shiels monster claim against Celtic?

What will it take for the SFA to put a gagging order on Kilmarnock’s Kenny Shiels?

For some reason the Rugby Park boss can barely go a week without criticising Celtic despite his own side being stuck in the bottom half of the table and struggling to hang onto players.

Neil Lennon described Shiels as the David Brent of Scottish football last week with the Kilmarnock boss back on the attack with his own brand of humour.

Shiels is smart enough to follow up his criticism of Celtic with a compliment but knows that his choice of language will always attract media attention although Vincent Lunny of the SFA appears slow to react to the wild accusations coming from Ayrshire.

Rather than let things lie after the Brent comparison Shiels has waded back in accusing Celtic of being monsters of Scottish football.

He said: “Celtic have massive influence on the judicial panel when decisions are made. Celtic are the monsters of Scottish football.

“We need the muscle of Celtic, it’s important to Scottish football. The Old Firm in general have the biggest support and influence.”

Suggesting that his own vote for Manager of the Year would go to Stuart McCall the Killie boss added: “If I could, I’d have voted for John McGlynn.

“He had a fantastic season playing kids, getting to the League Cup Final then being denied that chance. I don’t want to say Neil Lennon should be manager of the year just so I can walk through Glasgow.”
