Stewart Regan newsCharlotte Fakes has had a prolific weekend with the trickle of confidential material relating to Rangers affairs over the last few years turning into a flood.

All manner of issues have had a torch pointed in their direction with a staggering amount of information apparently in the pipeline.

It appears that audio and email information from dozens of sources are coming to light with correspondence involving journalists, football authorities and ‘media managers’ and the main characters coming into the public domain.

Among the most significant paper trails is the correspondence between Ibrox and Hampden as the issue of Rangers being licensed to play in European competition for the 2011/12 season.

UEFA apply strict licensing rules to ensure the integrity of their competitions insisting that all clubs meet the criteria of being upto date with their tax payments.

On 1st April 2011 the so-called ‘wee tax case’ came to light in the club accounts regarding money owed by Rangers to HMRC from the period 2001-2003.

According to UEFA no club owing money to the tax authorities are entitled to play in their competitions, it appears that the SFA took the view that since the  £2.8m was acknowledged and under discussion between Rangers and HMRC it was appropriate to license Rangers to represent Scotland in the Champions League qualifiers for 2011/12.

According to documents produced by Charlotte Fakes the licence issue was as worrying for the SFA as it was to the newly installed Craig Whyte regime at Ibrox.

In an email dated 7 December 2011 Stewart Regan of the SFA attempted to clarify the position writing: “Since the potential liability was under discussion between Rangers and HM Revenue & Customs as at 31 March 2011, it could not be considered an overdue payment as defined by Article 50.”

Regan’s proposal to issue a statement on the matter was met with a cold reception at Ibrox with the club feeling that any statement would draw attention to the issue, Craig Whyte’s response was that it would be crazy to issue such a statement.

According to the correspondence released the matter ended with a meal arranged between Regan, Whyte and Campbell Ogilvie on December 20.

If Rangers had been denied a licence for European football in 2011/12 the Craig Whyte takeover may have fallen through since it appears that his plans were based on £12m plus coming in from participating in the Champions League.

As SPL runners-up Celtic would have been put forward as Scotland’s Champions League representatives.

  • williebhoy says:

Crook Whyte is clearly prepared to take everyone down with him to get his dosh.

However will the SMSM highlight this info and ask the relevant parties awkward questions or ignore & hope it simply goes away…..I think we all know the answer to that.

It’s up to the clubs, including Celtic to DEMAND answers, ASK the awkward questions why was CO involved in such negotiations…….heads MUST roll or we are all complicit.

‘It appears that his plans were based on 12 million plus coming in from participation in the Champions League’

What could possibly go wrong, lol!

Enter stage extreme right, Mr sleekit himself, supper sally mccoist, the man who administered the coup de grace to rangers fc, extinguishing any possible chance they would survive administration, lol.

    In sally we trust!!

  • jmick34 says:

Surely UEFA or oofa as I like to call them must now look into this debacle and our governing body must be asked serious questions about the lack of ethics shown by them in this ongoing soap opera. Not obssessed just still the funniest show in town 🙂 HH

Has Jabba been sacked? Is he writing on the Bampotisphere under a different name?
Are there any Celtic minded people still reading the toilet roll newspapers?

  • Monti says:

    Regan out now!

  • Pasty says:

If this is correct then someone at Celtic Park should be looking at making a claim for £12million against the SFA.

  • MarkyBhoy says:

Aye, but did Lawell and the Board know about this then too?

  • Auldheid says:

Just to say that discussions between Rangers and HMRC does not cut it in terms of UEFA rules which requires PROOF in form of a written agreement to which HMRC are a party.
You bet there were discusions but was their any agreement on how and when the tax would be paid?

  • Sweeney Hughes says:

How do you go about getting the nifty avatar, Auldheid?

  • Jim says:

I don’t think anything will get done about it. It’s celtic vs the establishment. I think uefa are part of the establishment. We’re on our own. Bring them on. Hail hail

  • eastside says:

Charlotte Fakes has the audio for the dinner. Once that is released and the collusion and corruption is in the public domain WITH PROOF it will leave these people nowhere to hide.

  • BillyBhoy0511 says:

No ideas at all on who Charlotte Faves is?

  • seaney67 says:

nobody gives a damn about the integraty of scottish football that much is clear.not then not now and not in the foreseable future.we need out.the silence from all the spl clubs is astounding.the governing bodies inaction should surprise no one.but now we know just how impotent uefa and fifa are when it concerns issue’s that don’t involve sponsership or commercial rights.

  • Kenny says:

The SFA went to bed with a prostitute that was infected – it’s now starting to itch and likely to get worse.

Charlotte must be getting fed by Craig Whyte under an assumed name – directors at the dark side have previous for this. All the evidence is pointing one way, it’s no surprise the SFA and MSM are looking the other. You literally could not make this up!

  • Andybhoy says:

It’s astonishing the level of media blackout on these latest revelations. Past allegations were at least acknowledged and discussed in the press and media, even if it was begrudgingly and seemed more like a damage limitation exercise at times, but this time round it seems complete silence is the best policy. Why?

Can they no longer be seen to be defending certain individuals because they know what’s coming next therefore it’s best to say nothing? Are they just protecting themselves from future embarrassment because they don’t have a clue what’s coming next? Or are they battening down the hatches because some hacks are sweating on potentially damaging revelations that would leave their own reputations in tatters?

Either way there is something very wrong when the press go silent!

  • Auldheid says:

The December 2011 e mail was necesary because the previous line was under scrutiny as result of SO s calling at Ibrox in August and questions raised via CU blog in October 2011 showing the SFA response which led to other questions.
    Its all unravelling nicely.

  • The world is square says:

Peter Lawwell must have known all this and more , so why the silence .
