Celtic mania hits Elfsborg

Elfsborg has been hit by Celtic mania with fans queuing from 6am yesterday morning to snap up tickets for next Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier.

Thanks to Henrik Larsson Celtic are one of the best supported clubs in Sweden with hoops fans travelling from far and wide to get their hands on tickets.

Despite the controversy over Mo Bangura’s loan deal relations between both clubs remain friendly with the visit of the hoops eagerly awaited by Elfsborg fans.

Hoops fan David McEwan told the Elfsborg website: “I have Scottish relatives, my dad is from Scotland so I’m a Celtic fan.

“This was the first day of my holiday so I decided to come along early to make sure of getting my ticket. My friend is an Elfsborg fan but hopefully I can get a ticket near the Celtic fans.”

Jessica and Robert had travelled from Gothenburg and were there to pick up tickets for themselves and other Celtic fans from Stockholm.

Robert told the Elfsborg website: “We’ve been following Celtic for quite some time and been in a few matches in Scotland, including an Old Firm derby. Celtic is a club with great tradition and a long history.

Jessica explained: “We come from Gothenburg and went from there this morning so we were in the queue at about half past eight. We’ll get a couple for our friends in Stockholm who also are Celtic supporters.”

Elfsborg will train at Celtic Park tonight with the Bangura situation certain to be centre stage with Joe Ledley making his feelings clear.

The midfielder said: “If he knocked us out of the Champions League it would be very difficult for him to come back again.”
