McCoist says no no to Novo

Serial stalker Nacho Novo has admitted that he has no chance of a Sevco deal.

The legendary Spanish hit man walked out on Rangers in 2011 but after failing to make an impact at a number of clubs he’s taken to stalking Ally McCoist.

In January he turned up at Murray Park for training, in May he played in a legends match against Manchester United at Ibrox and on Sunday turned up at a cup-tie with Albion Rovers in the hope of being offered a deal.

Novo is available on a free transfer but despite being under a registration ban McCoist has made no attempt to sign the Spaniard.

Yesterday Novo admitted: “Ally has not spoken to me much. When we have talked we’ve just spoken normally, but it’s never about football.

“He knows if he wants me I want to come back but he has never said anything.

“I probably have to accept that’s it. There’s no point in me staying on top of them and if it has not happened by now it is not going to happen.

“It is great to go back to Murray Park to train and keep myself fit. I appreciate Rangers letting me do that.”

Novo added: “Ally McCoist is the manager and responsible for everything. He has his own ideas and I need to respect that. In football you always have good times and disappointing times.

“I’d like to come back to Ibrox, it was one of my priorities and for family reasons it would’ve been good. Managers come and go.

“They have their opinions about what they want for the team, what the team needs and as a player you have to accept that.”
