Sevco chief executive Craig Mather has performed a remarkable u-turn after the SFA imposed a registration ban on Hearts for going into administration.
At the beginning of July the highly paid Ibrox mouthpiece hoped that ‘people aren’t as quick to judge and make rash decisions’ when commenting on the situation between Hearts and the SFA.
Yesterday the SFA imposed a registration ban on the Edinburgh side prompting Mather to take to the Third Division champions website to respond.
He stated: “Our club, Rangers, was hit with a £50,000 fine and given a 12 month registration embargo.
“While no-one at this Club wishes to see others fall on hard times, questions must be asked about these anomalies and we fully understand the rising anger among our fans.
“They are entitled to think there is one rule for our club and another for everyone else. We will be seeking clarification for our fans.”
Given the fact that Rangers went into liquidation four months after administration the fine of £50,000 went the same way as debts to HMRC and various other businesses from the Scottish Ambulance service to face-painters and newsagents.
Over 50 businesses in Milngavie were left out of pocket by the liquidation of the club.
As well as the £50,000 unpaid fine for going into administration Rangers also failed to pay a £200,000 fine imposed by Lord Nimmo Smith for failing to properly register the contracts of players for a decade.
With various rumours going about regarding the finances of Sevco Mather might be grateful that the SFA are no longer fining clubs that go into administration.
In order to clarify matters to their fans perhaps Mather could publish audited accounts to confirm the financial health of the club.
Hopefully the SFA will provide Mather with some clarity and publish the secretive five way agreement that provided Sevco with a footballing licence and a flexible registration ban.

Fair play to the guy he got one thing right. There IS one rule for his club and another for the rest !!
You’ve said it all Joe…Nice one…
As for “fully understanding the anger of Sevco fans”….Mr.Mather obviously doesn’t know that that’s a requirement to be a Sevco fan…ANGER.
It’s what they do best.
The Uneducated in full pursuit of the unspeakable!
spl should tell this guy a few facts ask for paymts oh ys they dont do payin just taking
There is one law for them and the rest of us can just take it and keep our mouth shut like the boss at Celtic do HailHail
Huns seem to have a total blank when it comes to the word ‘liquidation’ like it doesn’t even exist.
They have been a bit quiet of late especially with the example of Dunfermline and their fans giving the club a lifeline. Why were the Pars fans so keen to avoid liquidation if it only means shedding your debt and carrying on as if nothing had happened?
Answer- because they do not want to lose their history as like another club did fairly recently despite the thick-headedness of their former fans spurious and laughable arguments.
‘Our club, rangers’
Hmmmmm
Any news on the Dundee Utd ‘charity’ gate money?

Although I cant stand the program I Relented for a few moments where I’ve just had a quick listen to Clyde S……r Sc……….rd and one of the dumb Bears was worried that it might all be happening again Andre began moaning about Gladys Green and this guy Mather. He seems to think that they are out for themselves and don’t care about poor old Sevco. What a revelation!
