Virgil van dijk faces another fortnight out of action.
The former Groningen defender has still to make his Celtic debut after picking up a foot injury during pre-season training in Germany.
Neil Lennon had hoped that van Dijk would help Celtic into the Champions League but it looks touch and go whether the 22-year-old will be available for the final qualifier if Celtic see off the challenge of Elfsborg.
Last night he tweeted: “For the guys who asked about my injury, I think i will be back in the next 2 weeks 3 maybe. Its not for sure.. Maybe earlier!”
Since signing in June van Dijk has been joined at Celtic by another Dutchman with Derk Boerrigter who was introduced to the Celtic support during half time at last nights match.
None of the four summer signings featured last night with Amido Balde and Steve Mouyokolo both on the bench.
Next week’s trip to Sweden is likely to be a nervy occasion but Lennon feels that his players have the experience to cope with whatever Elfsborg have to offer.
“The crucial thing is a clean sheet,” the Celtic boss said. “That is important, if we score over there Elfsborg have got to have three.
“The tie is probably in the balance but we are confident that we can go there and get a result.
“The Astroturf might change things with the way I pick my team but I was pleased with result. I would have taken 1-0 before the game.”

What is it with us…and new signing’s injuries…?
Am I wrong…or does this happen a lot…?
Baffling….
It could be worse, Mike, it could be Daniel Prodan! H×2
Its very true they always sign duds people with injuries and are as slow as a week in the jail with signing people too?
True enough mulsiebhoy…
but it’s still bafflin’…..
Think the lad was unfortunate… hopefully not as unfortunate as Rogne and even less so than Prodan but who really cares about either… I hope big Virgin can be more productive than both the aforementioned injury magnets! Ive no doubts.. or have I? HH
Agree with your comments, just wonder how Sammy is after the kicking he took last night fae they unsporting swedes
Surely Balde will be given a run of games we seem to do this constant. Get the big man in and get his confidence up. BangOura had Wilson and Ambrose terrified last night and he ain’t good enough for us. Pick your team lennon and stick with it for a run of games.
Joe are Celtic still running without a Doctor on the medical team or I’m I wrong on this matter.
Celtic still need a decent striker ibrahim toure fae monaco, or hosiner guy plays in germany, donyt go for kevin doyle he gt a poor scoring record, james mclean would be a cracking signing if celtic get a move on eh
