Sad Sevco go to war over Lawwell joke

Sad Sevco have issued an angry club statement following Peter Lawwell’s Rory Bremner joke at Celtic’s AGM.

Despite the numerous problems facing the Third Division champions who are facing their first ever AGM next month a nameless club statement named Lawwell and threatened to take up the issue with the footballing authorities.

The source of the anger was a comment by the Celtic chief that: “Rory Bremner can impersonate Tony Blair,” in reply to a supporter asking about a liquidated club apparently coming back to life.

Tonight’s nameless Sevco statement said: “The Club are disappointed with the comments attributed to Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell earlier today.

“Rangers Football Club, now in its 141st year, has a proud history which has been recognised by the football authorities and was noted in a recent SPL Commission determination.

“The Club will now take this matter up with the relevant football authorities.”

Without the steadying hand of a Chief Executive Sevco have taken to issuing club statements on an almost daily basis with the Daily Record on the receiving end of an another angry statement earlier today.

That statement read: “Re Daily Record (Friday, 15 November 2013)  – “Powerless – Gardiner says no to Gers top job as Ibrox board refuse to let him run club his way”

For the avoidance of doubt the club would like to clarify the following:-

The Rangers board continue to be dismayed at the standards of journalism from The Daily Record and can only assume that the paper is riddled from top to bottom with an anti-Rangers bias.”

Rather than simply state that Scot Gardiner had walked away from the offer of being Chief Executive of Sevco the Record attempted to cushion that news with claims to justify Gardiner’s decision.
