Celtic fans can now relive their side’s emphatic 7-0 win over Hearts through YouTube.
Some fans had expressed concern that highlights were only available on the BBC website which left fans outwith the UK in the dark.
SPFL games are available on You Tube on a Sunday but it took the SFA until Wednesday morning to upload 15 minutes of highlights from the Tynecastle slaughter.
A hat-trick from Kris Commons, a rare double from Scott Brown and further strikes from Joe Ledley and Mikael Lustig had Celtic fans in raptures as their side turned on the style to sweep the brave young Jambos aside.
Five days after losing to AC Milan in the Champions League it was just the topic that the club needed with Lennon thrilled by the football produced by his side.
“If you’re looking for Utopia, that first half was probably it,” the hoops boss claimed. “All five goals were breathtaking. And the performance was the best I’ve seen, certainly in my time as a manager.
“That’s what we’ve been seeking for a few months now and off the back of what was a disappointing exit in the Champions League.
“The players showed remarkable character to play as strongly as that. Now there are people out there going, ‘Well, it’s only Hearts, young team, blah blah blah.’
“It wouldn’t have mattered who we played today. I thought we were absolutely amazing. It’s a statement of how good a team we are. A few people are thinking, ‘They’re on the way down’ and then the boys respond like that.
“We are in transition and it may take a wee while for the whole squad to come to fruition but Virgil van Dijk is already a stalwart and Nir Biton showed his class again today.
“Boerrigter, Pukki, Balde – there’s more to come from them. And I already have class players here – Lustig, Ledley, Commons, Brown, Ambrose, Forster.
“We looked a Champions League team – which is what we are. I’m not getting carried away but that is what I want. I know we can’t replicate it every week but the players have shown they’re capable of that.”
Joe,
Every Celtic fan was in the dark watching
it live, with the phantom second goal.
Coverage,commentary and analysis were
all shocking.
Only part of bbc production I enjoyed was
the pain in billy dodds voice, as goal after
goal hit the net.
As they say, PURE QUALITY MAN. !!!!
Cheers for putting vid up Joe, some silky stuff from the hoops.
I could watch that game over and over! Some of the movement and goals were fantastic! Would Lustig have tried that shot if the score was 0-0??
Anyway, more of the same please 😀
