Neil Lennon isn’t overly concerned about the return to Celtic of Niall McGinn.
The Irishman was the last player to score against Celtic domestically when he notched an equaliser on November 23 before two late goals gave Celtic a 3-1 win.
Aberdeen return to Celtic Park tomorrow, on Scottish Cup duty, but Lennon takes pride in the clubs 12 match run without conceding a goal rather than fearing a return from Derek McInnes’ side.
“It is ironic and remarkable to think back to that goal just before half-time,” Lennon told Celtic TV as he looked back on Aberdeen’s last trip to Celtic Park.
“We went on to win that game late on, deservedly so because we had dominated the game.
“When you get told that that was the last time that a team scored against us domestically it’s very hard to believe, it’s wonderful.
“The clean sheet is a fantastic record, when you sit down and think about it it takes some doing. The majority of the praise goes to Fraser but the guys in front of him have did a remarkable job as well.
“The unbeaten run in the league is something else that we want to preserve and we have a great cup tie on Saturday so we have a lot to look forward to.
“The team is playing very well as I thought they would after the winter break, the change of scenery helped them and the football that they’ve played at times has been fantastic.
“As a manager I look at the level of performance, I’m pleased that we are attacking teams in a variety of ways.”
Hopefully one day niall mcginn will be playing in the hoops again.
He has done very well at Aberdeen and an inspiration to players that leave here.
Hopefully tomorrow he has an off day.
