Sevco chief Wallace attacks claims from rebel blogger

Troubled Sevco have issued a club statement following increased speculation that the club is on the brink of administration.

Blogger Phil MacGiollahain set the pace with a number of stories in the build up to the administration and liquidation of Rangers and has kept a close eye on the new club and it’s links to Craig Whyte.

In midweek Ibrox PR chief Jack Irvine issued a denial to Radio Clyde after they discussed claims of imminent administration but through twitter the speculation has continued.

Tonight, just over an hour before the glamour Scottish Cup tie at home to Dunfermline, chief executive Graham Wallace, who once worked for Manchester City, issued a club statement on MacGiollahain’s continuing claims.

The London based Sevco chief said: “The club has received many calls in recent days from fans, shareholders and other interested parties with regard to the contents of an Irish-based internet blog which has published numerous allegations about the business affairs of Rangers Football Club.

“The Club wishes to make clear that these allegations are totally inaccurate and that the Chief Executive and Board of Directors are fully focussed on the restructuring and rebuilding of Rangers Football Club as previously announced.

“The Club has decided to make this statement as unchallenged, ill-informed and inaccurate comments are damaging to the reputation of Rangers Football Club.”

Giving further publicity to the claims is bound to give them greater validity particularly since there is no mention of legal action being taken against MacGiollahain.

In recent months lawyers letters have been sent to a number of prominent Ibrox bloggers for criticising the club.
