Top newsman predicts Sevco administration on Wednesday

Respected Channel 4 newsman Alex Thomson has tweeted that he expects Sevco to go into administration on Wednesday.

Thomson has kept a keen eye on the omnishambles at Ibrox ever since billionaire Craig Whyte bought the club from Dave Murray for one pound.

Rumours of imminent administration have been rife since the turn of the year with newly appointed Sevco chief executive Graham Wallace repeatedly claiming that the club is in no danger of going into administration.

If Thomson’s prediction is true Mr Wallace, who used to work for Manchester City, is likely to be the first casualty missing out on the kind of lucrative pay off enjoyed by his predecessors Charles Green and Craig Mather.

Wallace has hidden behind his 120 day review of the business but that seems unlikely to see the light of day if the club is plunged into administration.

Not long after 6pm alex thomson ?@alextomo  tweeted: “Rangers to go into Administration on Wednesday? At least one senior Glasgow accountant is saying so tonight.”

Three hours later Thomson added: “Will Rangers deny that Nash and Wallace have met 2 potential Administrators in the past 48 hours? #c4news

News of administration comes after another week of turbulence where the club’s finances have been under the spotlight.

Last Monday it was confirmed that Laxey Partnerns and Sandy Easdale had given the club a £1.5m emergency loan allowing the crisis club to meet their February payroll commitments.

The Upper Tier Tribunal into the use of EBT’s by the old club began in Edinburgh while former commercial chief Imran Ahmad had his bid to ring fence £650,000 thrown out.

The six month interim accounts for the period to 31 December 2013 should have been published by Friday but have so far failed to see the light of day.

Adding to the turmoil Dave King has issued two statements that are highly critical of the regime at Ibrox suggesting that Green and his investment partners are still calling the shots from afar.

The South African based shameless and glib liar is expected to jet in to Scotland over the next ten days to begin talks with a dozen supporter groups to arrange a season ticket boycott.

With reports speculating that administration is just days away a rush of statements are expected as the crisis at Ibrox deepens.
