Anthony StokesCeltic turned on the style to demolish Inverness Caley Thistle 6-0 with Anthony Stokes stealing the show with a well taken hat-trick.

The striker took his tally for the season to 19 with his second treble of the season as his partnership with Leigh Griffiths bears fruit.

Griffiths provided the assist for both of Stokes’ first half goals with the Irishman returning the compliment for the former Hibs striker to put Celtic four up.

With the title long since clinched Neil Lennon was delighted by the attitude of his players who are on target to hit the 101 points mark if they can win their three remaining matches.

“It was a fantastic all-round performance and probably the best of the season,” Lennon said.

“The attitude of the players from the start was fantastic. Our quality was brilliant and we got stronger as the game went on. All the plaudits go to the players.

“There was a flow to us and we looked really dangerous going forward, defensively we were pretty solid, and when the keeper was called on he made a penalty save.”

Efe Ambrose scored Celtic’s fifth goal with a well placed header before some equally impressive celebrations that saw him add a twist to his well known somersault.

Substitute Teemu Pukki completed the scoring but it was Stokes’ performance and hat-trick that impressed the Celtic manager most.

Lennon added: “Anthony Stokes is playing really well, he’s been bang on form for the last four or five months of the season. He’s up to 19 goals now and if he gets 20 that’ll be his third or fourth successive season getting 20, so he’s been a very important player for us.”
