Sandy Easdale newsRebel Sevco fans have reacted angrily to news that their bid for a legally binding promise over Ibrox Stadium has been dismissed by the club board.

Last Wednesday members of the rebel Union of Fans group met with Mr Wallace, Mr Crichton and Mr Sandy Easdale to discuss the war of statements between the two groups.

After the meeting the Union of Fans issued a statement which some interpreted as light at the end of the tunnel with Sins of Struth leader Craigy Housty Houston going public that he felt the future of Ibrox was close to being secured.

On Saturday the Sevco board scoffed at that notion warning that security of the assets would never be up for negotiation with Dave King’s Ibrox 1972 group.

With no sign of progress towards their goal- largely due to Craig Whyte’s Sevco 5088 having a claim over Ibrox and the state-of-the-art Murray Park training academy- the Union of Fans have retaliated with a fresh statement.

Last night they turned on chief executive, Mr Wallace, who guided Manchester City to a Financial Fair Play fine of £50m from Uefa.

The latest statement said: “The idea this latest board proclamation should give supporters confidence over the club’s assets is utterly ridiculous. In fact, it should confirm just how much danger our vital assets are in.

“It is clear Mr Wallace, despite being chief executive, has less influence in the plc boardroom than Sandy Easdale who is not even a member of the plc board.

“Murray Park is in grave danger and has been since December 2013. The statement from the board that they ‘will not be seeking’ a sale and leaseback of Ibrox is not binding and it is still not unequivocal.

“We believe, as long as the shareholders fronted by Mr Easdale are calling the shots in the boardroom, Ibrox will remain in grave danger too.”

With season ticket sales believed to have stalled around the 5,000 mark some seasoned Ibrox watchers believe that the club could be forced into administration as next week’s May payroll draws ominously closer.
