Sandy Easdale newsSevco fans have been left confused in the ‘battle for Ibrox’ as their club races towards administration.

Season ticket sales of around 5,000 may just be enough to pay back February’s emergency loans but it looks like meeting the May and June payroll’s could be a struggle never mind funding Ally McCoist’s transfer war-chest.

A meeting of the Union of Fans with Mr Wallace and Mr Easdale on Wednesday night was viewed as a breakthrough with suggestions of the board caving in and light at the end of the tunnel.

Fans supremo Craig Housty Houston yesterday told the Evening Times: “We had a meeting with the board and we discussed a way of resolving the issue. These discussions will continue over the next couple of days. We are hopeful of a positive outcome.

“One of the three main aims of the Sons of Struth when we were formed was to secure and protect Ibrox from being sold. We are quite confident we will now get that.”

As the penny dropped about the reality of the ‘legally binding promise’ Houston turned to the .

This morning he admitted: “It is with a deep sense of disappointment that I can confirm there has been no further movement.

“At present we have no agreement with the board and, for this reason, we cannot endorse the buying of season tickets.

“We would suggest that the fans hold back until such times as we have a firm agreement on the proposals.

“We expected the board to act with some sort of urgency but we have heard nothing. I just hope that the fans don’t get spooked into renewing at the last minute.”

Yesterday in a bid to push season ticket renewals Colin Stein was talking up next season’s Championship campaign with McCoist silent on the selling of season tickets.
