Kyle Lafferty has been branded an out of control womaniser by Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.
The former Rangers striker joined the Italian side at the start of last season and scored 11 goals in 34 league matches as the club won promotion by winning Serie B by 11 points.
Lafferty is in talks with Norwich over a move to England with Zamparini having to explain the move of the popular striker to supporters.
“Lafferty is sold as a result of a precise request from my Coach Beppe Iachini,” Zamparini told Radio 24.
“He is an out-of-control womaniser, an Irishman without rules. He is someone who disappears for a week and goes on the hunt for women in Milan.
“He has two families with six children, he never trains, he’s completely off the rails. On the field he’s a great player, because he gave us everything he had and more.
“In terms of his behaviour, however, he is uncontrollable. My Coach told me he cannot sort this player out, so he has to go.”
Lafferty spent three eventful seasons at Ibrox where he was rarely out of the headlines.
On the park he was guilty of an outrageous act of simulation against Charlie Mulgrew which got the then Aberdeen defender sent off with that incident bringing him to the attention of the UK public.
Away from Ibrox the Irishman was involved in a number of controversies including being removed from a house that he was renting due to interior damage while former Rangers owner Craig Whyte joked on tape about the players gambling debts.
On 1 June 2012, days before walking away from his boyhood favourites, Lafferty married Nicola Mimnagh at St Margaret’s RC Chapel in Johnstone, Kirk Broadfoot was the only Rangers player that attended the cermony.
