Watch Pukki’s Brondby double

Teemu Pukki scored twice last night as Brondby beat Aalborg 2-1 at home.

The on-loan Celtic striker scored with two great opportunist goals in the 44th and 69th minutes to lift Brondby above their opponents and take Thomas Frank’s team into sixth place after ten matches.

“It was a really good game for me and the team,” Pukki stated afterwards. “As a striker you have to be in place when the chances arise and I managed that.”

Fellow Celt Holmbert Fridjonsson played the last four minutes of the match as Brondby won their first match in three outings.

In Belgium Amido Balde provided the assist for Ante Vukusic to score the only goal of the game as Beveren beat Cercle Brugge 1-0 at home to jump out of the relegation places.

Back in Scotland it was draws across the board for the loan bhoys of Dylan McGeouch, Marcus Fraser and Jackson Irvine.

Fraser was probably the happiest of the three helping Cowdenbeath to a credible 0-0 draw at Dumbarton to keep them in touch with Alloa at the bottom of the table.

At Easter Road McGeouch was a 72nd minute substitute but was unable to prevent Hibs from dropping two points at home to Raith Rovers just five days after Alan Stubbs side had won comfortably at Ibrox.

In the highland derby Irvine had to settle for a point as Ross County drew away to Inverness Caley Thistle, in the Scottish Cup there was relief for Aiden McIlduff as Clyde won 3-0 away to Turrif United to take their place in the third round draw.
