John Guidetti has apologised for his off day at Motherwell.
Celtic won the match 1-0 but Guidetti was the chief sinner in front of goal missing three chances that he’d normally expect to tuck away.
It took a fifth minute strike from Anthony Stokes to secure the points with the super Swede turning to twitter to apologise for drawing a blank.
“I am really sorry that I did not score 2 day but sometimes it’s like this,” he tweeted. “3 points and #Celtic fans where truly amazing #unreal !!!!
“Sad my over head kick goal got disallowed would have been a beauty 🙁 “
Guidetti did find the net in the first half but it was disallowed by the linesman in the east stand who also missed a clear handball from Zaine Francis-Angol that should have given Celtic a penalty that even Neil McCann on Sky Sports acknowledged as a mistake.
“I think John was very frustrated today but he has scored a lot of goals and strikers get these periods sometimes but he will come back,” Ronny Deila said.
“We win games, that’s positive. We have a good mood in the group, it’s a good atmosphere. We’re working every day to improve and I see signs every day that we’re getting somewhere but we are not there yet, it’s a lot of work still.”
Stefan Scepovic replaced James Forrest in the 81st minute and is likely to lead the line in midweek against Dinamo Zagreb with Guidetti unavailable due to an SFA clerical error.
